FABRIC BOOK

The fabric book assignment was intended to familiarize students with interpreting colour, utilizing different materials and implementing techniques. Throughout the course of the major I developed several techniques and learned to combine them in innovative ways. This resulted in a fabric book filled with colour, texture and a plethora of techniques.

Some of the techniques I explored were hand-embroidering, sublimation printing, machine embroidering, felting, laminating, tufting, weaving and various types of interfacing. I did this using silk, wool, polyester fabrics, glass beads, metallic threads, recycled fibers and cotton.

This assignment gave me great insight into all the possible ways to manipulate and improve upon different materials.
